As the year draws to a close, it is time again to share with you my 2022 highlights and I look forward to hearing how your 2022 went :-) This year was all about closing up a chapter in the Philippines and opening up a new chapter in Mauritius 1Q 2022 was spent fighting for my visa deposit from the Philippine government, getting all my documentation in order for departure and preparing arrival documents for Mauritius, saying farewell to my golfing colleagues with ZOG's and Pradera Golf course and signing off with another hole-in-one at Beverly Golf Course playing with the Balibago Golf Society :-) 2Q 2022 back to the UK to visit family and friends and get some closure from my Sister's death in April 2020 and then off to Mauritius to hopefully get settled into my "new host country". 3Q 2022 back to the UK again for my youngest nephews wedding in Whitstable, Kent (Fabulous) and I also took the opportunity to "connect" with long lost cousins, aunts, uncles and friends whom I had not seen for a few years. During the tour of the length and bredth of the UK, I managed some golf rounds in Scotland, the highlight being a round at St Andrews new course and also ticked off a couple of "bucket list" events, namely the Military Tattoo and the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh (Wonderful) 4Q 2022 settled down in Mauritius, joined 4 golfing societies ("Ropeys" on Wednesdays, "Animals" on Thursdays, "Murphys" on Sundays and Grand Baie Golf Club once a month on Saturdays) and also joined a gym to try and get back some of the distance I have lost on my golf drives. Plans for 2023: Enjoy my life in Mauritius, visit family and friends in the UK and try and get to see the polar bears before they become extinct along with all the other wildlife we have lost during my lifetime due to the greed and lust of mankind. So sad that it seems virtually impossible for human beings to be able to live in harmony with each other and/or nature. I trust life went as well as it could for you all in 2022 and I wish you a healthy, happy and wealthy 2023. Take care, stay well and in touch :-)
